When several drains slow or back up at once, toilets gurgle, or sewer odors show up inside or outside the home, the main sewer line may be the problem. The main sewer line carries everything from your home out to the city sewer, so when it fails, the whole house feels it. Arctic Air & Plumbing repairs and replaces sewer lines for homeowners across Lancaster and the Antelope Valley.
We start by running a camera down your line to see what’s wrong and where, then explain your options and the price before any work begins. We’ve served local homeowners since 2009.

Signs You May Have a Sewer Line Problem
Sewer line trouble usually shows up at more than one fixture, because everything in the house drains into that single line. Any one of these is worth a look, and more than one at the same time points to the main line:
- Several drains backing up together. When the toilet, tub, and sink all drain slowly or gurgle at the same time, the blockage is usually in the main line they share, not any one fixture.
- Sewage at a tub, shower, or floor drain. Wastewater coming up at the lowest drain in the house can indicate the main line is blocked or damaged.
- Gurgling fixtures. Toilets or drains that gurgle when you run water or flush point to air trapped by a blockage down the line.
- A sewage smell. A persistent sewer odor inside the home or out in the yard can mean the line is cracked or leaking.
- Clogs that keep coming back. A main-line clog that returns within weeks, no matter how often a drain is cleared, can mean the pipe itself has a problem.
- A wet or unusually green patch in the yard. A soggy, sunken, or greener strip following the path of the line can mean sewage is leaking underground.
One of these on its own might be a local clog. Several together, or any sewage backing up, is a reason to have the main line looked at before it turns into a bigger mess.
We Inspect the Line Before Recommending a Repair
We don’t quote a sewer repair blind. Before we recommend anything, we run a waterproof camera down your line and watch the inside of the pipe on a screen. That shows us where the trouble is, how far down the line it sits, and what’s causing it, whether that’s roots, a crack, a collapsed section, or a belly where waste settles.
The inspection is what separates clearing a clog that comes back next month from fixing the pipe itself. It also tells us whether your line needs a cleaning, a spot repair, or a full replacement, so the recommendation fits the condition and your budget.
