Our Air Conditioning Services in Lancaster, CA

Summer in the Antelope Valley asks a lot from an air conditioner. Long stretches of triple-digit weather can keep a system running for hours at a time, and when something starts going wrong, the house can heat up quickly.

Arctic Air & Plumbing has worked on cooling systems across Lancaster and the Antelope Valley since 2009. We handle the full life of the system, from diagnosing a breakdown to replacing aging equipment to keeping a good AC in shape before summer starts.

Here’s how we help:

  • AC Repair

: If the system is blowing warm air, short-cycling, leaking, making unusual noises, tripping the breaker, or refusing to start, we test the system to find the cause and explain the repair before work begins.
  • AC Installation & Replacement

: When an older system is no longer worth repairing, we size the replacement to the home, explain the equipment options, provide written pricing, and test the new system before the job is finished.
  • AC Maintenance & Tune-Ups

: Annual maintenance checks airflow, coils, electrical components, drainage, refrigerant performance, and overall system operation before the heavy cooling season begins.

If you’re not sure which service you need, tell us what the system is doing. A working AC that hasn’t been checked in a while may just need maintenance. A system that is already failing needs repair, and an older unit with repeated major problems may be worth comparing with replacement.

Do NOT use this company!
A picture is worth a thousand words - please read this and check out my pictures before you call this company! We have been customers of Arctic Air for years and this is the installation they performed at our home. Incomplete wiring, pieces taped in place, instead of fully removing the old unit the new swamp cooler is taped to pieces of the old unit - since this was done on our roof, we might have never known how bad the installation was but it caused a leak in our living room and we’ve been stuck in a nightmare ever since.
If we want repairs done through them then we just need to sign a form releasing them of all liability - would you sign off on a company that performed THIS work to come fix it?
• This was installed 6/6
• Arctic Air performed repairs on the new unit on 6/8 (it was flooding our side yard due to an incorrect valve placement)
• There was a leak in our living room on 6/14 and an Arctic Air tech confirmed it was their responsibility and management would follow up
To date, we are still going back and forth while things stay broken and damaged in our home. Save yourself this trouble!

Thanks for the response Arctic Air - as of 07/08/26, our request was not approved by management. If they have changed their mind, we would appreciate a commitment in writing (via email).

Called @ 4pm with a non emergency repair. My plumbing was completely repaired the very next day. Professional, friendly and a pure delight to work with. In the end I included an annual service. Josh and Jonathan are the best. Being able to trust the work and the people is everything. I understand all the 5 star reviews. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

They just keep getting better! I know it can be difficult in these times to trust companies to truly take care of you, do solid work, all at a fair price, but this company does! Had Joe come out and inspect my A/C unit. He was very thoughtful, complete and accommodating. 5 star is not enough. He gave some great recommendations without any high pressure sales and I am completely happy with adding these features to my home through the best A/C company I have worked with by far. Call them, use them and find trust again! Thank you Joe!

I have used these guys several times and they are great. Highly recommend. Today, Joseph didn't disappoint. He explained everything clearly. Great experience. He warned us about old components that need to be replaced and gave us estimates and the approximate time it takes to complete each job. For HVAC and plumbing I recommend Artic Air.

Jonathan was amazing! I live out of the state so he was in the house without super. He called, texted, and FaceTimed me during work. He took before pictures and provided plenty of videos of his work and sent them to me as things were being fixed. He was very knowledgeable and showed a deep concern for me as the customer. He displayed exceptional customer service and didn’t appear to inflate costs or try to push services that I didn’t need. He was honest and did a great job! Artic Air communicated with me and was able to get my issues resolved within 24 hours of me scheduling the appointment. I would definitely recommend Artic Air and Jonathan specifically!!

I can't say enough about Arctic air! We live way up in the mountains in Tehachapi, and they had no problem coming to our house. They are high-tech, personable, efficient and extremely professional. Both Gabriel and Lazaro were amazing, diagnosed the problem, did some troubleshooting, and took care of everything. They even had recommendations for what to do in the near future. I will not hesitate to call them again or to recommend them fully! Well done guys!!

Miguel was nice but the service itself definitely seemed like a scam. Had I known he wasn’t going to do anything I would have never agreed to pay the $99. He attempted to charge almost $1400 to replace 4 items that cost around $120 for all. He informed me that labor itself was $180. I then asked how much it would be if I aid for the parts separate and just paid the labor. Mind you this was after I paid the $99 and he sent me an invoice that totaled to $522. I don’t see how the labor went up that much when he’s servicing the same parts. This company definitely does not seem like an honest company nor is it reasonable. For that amount I could just buy a new one. I asked for the parts I needed and it literally came out to $120.44 for all 4 parts. I also did review the invoice and there’s no detailed price aside anything. I understand this is a business but this seems beyond unreasonable and a waste a money. I will not be recommending and I hope you learn to do right by your customers.

Our 24 year old wall heater was replaced Dec 22 2025 by Samuel and Miguel. They were on time, finished in shorter time than estimated, clean, professional, and provided lots of answers to our multiple questions.
The gentleman that came out the week before to diagnose the problem gave us same info as the So Cal Gas representative. But, in addition to saying we were fortunate to be alive and should keep the heater pilot off, he came back the next day with a portable heater for our use until new heater could be installed on Monday .
Photos are of clean paper placed from front door to wall heater site

Why Homeowners Choose Arctic Air

Arctic Air & Plumbing technician explaining a brochure to a customer

When you call someone to work on your air conditioner, you’re trusting them with one of the most important systems in the house, especially during an Antelope Valley summer. You should be able to expect a clear diagnosis, a straightforward explanation of what the system needs, and a price before the work begins.

That’s how we approach AC service at Arctic Air & Plumbing. Whether we’re repairing a breakdown, maintaining a system before summer, or helping you decide whether an older unit is worth replacing, the goal is to give you enough information to make a good decision without turning the visit into a sales pitch.

Here’s what you can expect when you call Arctic Air & Plumbing:

  • Licensed, bonded, and insured.

Our technicians test the system before recommending a repair or replacement, so the next step is based on what the equipment is actually doing.
  • Serving the Antelope Valley since 2009.

We’ve worked through plenty of Lancaster summers and know the kinds of cooling problems that show up when systems spend months running under heavy load.
  • Experience with High Desert conditions.

Long run times, wind-blown dust, dirty coils, restricted airflow, and heat-stressed electrical parts are all familiar problems here, and we account for those conditions when we inspect the system.
  • Most major systems and brands.

We work on central air conditioners, ductless mini-splits, and heat pumps from most major residential manufacturers.
  • Clear explanations.

We’ll tell you what the testing showed, what needs attention now, and what your options are. You shouldn’t need to understand HVAC terminology to understand your own repair.
  • Equipment sized to the home.

When replacement makes sense, we look at the home’s cooling needs instead of automatically installing the same size equipment that was there before.
  • Pricing before the work starts.

You’ll know what the approved repair or installation will cost before we begin. If something changes the scope, we’ll explain it before doing additional work.
  • Work focused on the actual problem.

Whether we’re repairing a failed component or installing a new system, the goal is to correct the issue we found and leave the equipment operating the way it should.
  • 24/7 service.

If your AC goes down after hours, someone at Arctic answers the phone around the clock.

AC Systems We Work On

Homes around Lancaster use several different types of cooling equipment. The way we diagnose, repair, or replace the system depends on how that equipment is designed to move heat and air through the home.

  • Central air conditioning:

whole-home systems with an outdoor condenser and an indoor coil or air handler, with cooled air distributed through ductwork.
  • Ductless mini-split systems:

systems that cool individual rooms or zones without relying on central ductwork. They are often used in additions, converted spaces, garages, and homes where ducts are impractical.
  • Heat pumps:

systems that cool in summer and reverse operation to provide heat in winter. Because the same equipment handles both seasons, proper airflow and system operation matter year-round.

We repair and maintain most major brands, including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York, Bosch, Rheem, American Standard, Amana, Fujitsu, and Frigidaire. If you have an uncommon system, call with the make and model number and we’ll confirm whether we service it.

What the Desert Does to a Cooling System

Summers here run long and hot, and that shapes how a cooling system holds up. During stretches of triple-digit weather, an AC may run for hours at a time, and the heat often stays high into the evening. Those long run times put extra wear on motors, capacitors, compressors, and other electrical parts, and a small airflow or maintenance problem matters more when the equipment is already working near its limit.

Wind-blown dust adds to it, collecting on filters and the outdoor coil where it restricts airflow and makes heat harder to release. The desert doesn’t cause every breakdown, but it tends to expose weak parts once the system is running its hardest. That’s a big part of why repair, replacement, and maintenance all look a little different out here than in milder climates.

Signs Your AC Needs Service

An AC doesn’t always stop working all at once. Often, something changes first. The air feels warmer, airflow drops, the system stays on longer, or a new noise shows up when it starts.

Call for service if you notice:

  • Warm air from the vents when the thermostat is set to cool.
  • Weak or uneven airflow, especially when some rooms stay noticeably warmer than others.
  • Grinding, rattling, buzzing, squealing, or other new noises when the equipment starts or runs.
  • Short-cycling, where the AC turns on and off repeatedly instead of completing a normal cooling cycle.
  • Higher energy use when the system is running much longer than it used to without a clear change in weather or thermostat settings.
  • Water or ice around the indoor equipment, refrigerant lines, or coil.
  • Musty or burning smells when the system operates.

These symptoms can come from airflow problems, electrical failures, refrigerant issues, drainage trouble, worn motors, dirty coils, or other causes. Our AC repair page explains how we diagnose those problems and what happens during a repair visit.

Protect Your AC System With Regular Maintenance

A yearly AC tune-up checks the parts that affect cooling, airflow, drainage, electrical operation, and refrigerant performance before summer puts the system under its heaviest load. It can’t prevent every breakdown, but it reduces avoidable strain and gives you a clearer picture of how the equipment is doing before the hottest part of the year.

If you’d rather keep seasonal service on a regular schedule, the Arctic Air Deluxe Maintenance Membership is another way to stay on top of routine maintenance.
