Water Filtration

Whole Home Water Filtration in Lancaster, CA

Antelope Valley water is hard, and you can taste it. Scale on the fixtures, spots on the glassware, dry skin after every shower. We test what's actually in your water, then install a system that treats every tap in the house, not just the kitchen sink.

Signs Your Water Needs Help

  • Scale and spotting. White crust on faucets and shower heads, cloudy glasses straight out of the dishwasher.
  • Taste and smell. A chlorine or metallic edge in tap water nobody in the house wants to drink.

We test your water first, then size the system to your home.

If your water has an unpleasant taste or odor, looks cloudy, or leaves visible sediment, a filtration system may help. The right system depends on what you want to reduce and what testing shows is in the water.

Arctic Air & Plumbing helps homeowners in Lancaster and the Antelope Valley choose and install whole-home and under-sink water filtration systems. We explain what each option is designed to address before you decide. We’ve served local homeowners since 2009.

What Water Filtration Does, and What It Doesn't

Water filters can reduce sediment, chlorine taste and odor, or certain contaminants, depending on the filter media and system design. A filter doesn’t automatically remove the minerals that cause hard-water scale.

A water softener addresses hardness minerals. If you’re dealing with scale on fixtures, water spots, or soap scum, a softener may be the more relevant option. Some homes use a softener and a filter together because they address different water concerns.

What’s in Lancaster’s Water?

Water quality can vary by service area and water source, so the report for one Lancaster address may not match another. Your water provider’s Consumer Confidence Report lists its current testing results, while an in-home water test can help identify the conditions relevant to your plumbing and drinking-water goals.

Public water reports for local systems may list naturally occurring minerals, disinfectants used to protect the water supply, and other detected constituents. A detection doesn’t automatically mean you need a filter, and the right treatment depends on the result, its level, and what you want to improve.

If you’re concerned about drinking water at a particular tap, we can test your water and discuss filtration options designed for the results. We’ll explain what the selected system is intended to reduce before you decide.

Do NOT use this company!
A picture is worth a thousand words - please read this and check out my pictures before you call this company! We have been customers of Arctic Air for years and this is the installation they performed at our home. Incomplete wiring, pieces taped in place, instead of fully removing the old unit the new swamp cooler is taped to pieces of the old unit - since this was done on our roof, we might have never known how bad the installation was but it caused a leak in our living room and we’ve been stuck in a nightmare ever since.
If we want repairs done through them then we just need to sign a form releasing them of all liability - would you sign off on a company that performed THIS work to come fix it?
• This was installed 6/6
• Arctic Air performed repairs on the new unit on 6/8 (it was flooding our side yard due to an incorrect valve placement)
• There was a leak in our living room on 6/14 and an Arctic Air tech confirmed it was their responsibility and management would follow up
To date, we are still going back and forth while things stay broken and damaged in our home. Save yourself this trouble!

Thanks for the response Arctic Air - as of 07/08/26, our request was not approved by management. If they have changed their mind, we would appreciate a commitment in writing (via email).

Called @ 4pm with a non emergency repair. My plumbing was completely repaired the very next day. Professional, friendly and a pure delight to work with. In the end I included an annual service. Josh and Jonathan are the best. Being able to trust the work and the people is everything. I understand all the 5 star reviews. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

They just keep getting better! I know it can be difficult in these times to trust companies to truly take care of you, do solid work, all at a fair price, but this company does! Had Joe come out and inspect my A/C unit. He was very thoughtful, complete and accommodating. 5 star is not enough. He gave some great recommendations without any high pressure sales and I am completely happy with adding these features to my home through the best A/C company I have worked with by far. Call them, use them and find trust again! Thank you Joe!

I have used these guys several times and they are great. Highly recommend. Today, Joseph didn't disappoint. He explained everything clearly. Great experience. He warned us about old components that need to be replaced and gave us estimates and the approximate time it takes to complete each job. For HVAC and plumbing I recommend Artic Air.

Jonathan was amazing! I live out of the state so he was in the house without super. He called, texted, and FaceTimed me during work. He took before pictures and provided plenty of videos of his work and sent them to me as things were being fixed. He was very knowledgeable and showed a deep concern for me as the customer. He displayed exceptional customer service and didn’t appear to inflate costs or try to push services that I didn’t need. He was honest and did a great job! Artic Air communicated with me and was able to get my issues resolved within 24 hours of me scheduling the appointment. I would definitely recommend Artic Air and Jonathan specifically!!

I can't say enough about Arctic air! We live way up in the mountains in Tehachapi, and they had no problem coming to our house. They are high-tech, personable, efficient and extremely professional. Both Gabriel and Lazaro were amazing, diagnosed the problem, did some troubleshooting, and took care of everything. They even had recommendations for what to do in the near future. I will not hesitate to call them again or to recommend them fully! Well done guys!!

Miguel was nice but the service itself definitely seemed like a scam. Had I known he wasn’t going to do anything I would have never agreed to pay the $99. He attempted to charge almost $1400 to replace 4 items that cost around $120 for all. He informed me that labor itself was $180. I then asked how much it would be if I aid for the parts separate and just paid the labor. Mind you this was after I paid the $99 and he sent me an invoice that totaled to $522. I don’t see how the labor went up that much when he’s servicing the same parts. This company definitely does not seem like an honest company nor is it reasonable. For that amount I could just buy a new one. I asked for the parts I needed and it literally came out to $120.44 for all 4 parts. I also did review the invoice and there’s no detailed price aside anything. I understand this is a business but this seems beyond unreasonable and a waste a money. I will not be recommending and I hope you learn to do right by your customers.

Our 24 year old wall heater was replaced Dec 22 2025 by Samuel and Miguel. They were on time, finished in shorter time than estimated, clean, professional, and provided lots of answers to our multiple questions.
The gentleman that came out the week before to diagnose the problem gave us same info as the So Cal Gas representative. But, in addition to saying we were fortunate to be alive and should keep the heater pilot off, he came back the next day with a portable heater for our use until new heater could be installed on Monday .
Photos are of clean paper placed from front door to wall heater site

Reasons Homeowners Consider Water Filtration

Homeowners often ask about filtration after noticing a change at the tap or when they want to improve drinking water at a specific fixture.

  • Chlorine taste or odor.

Carbon media may reduce chlorine taste and odor, depending on the system and water conditions.
  • Visible sediment or cloudiness.

A sediment filter can capture particles that affect water clarity or collect in fixtures and equipment.
  • Drinking-water concerns.

An under-sink system can treat water at one kitchen or bar sink for drinking and cooking.
  • A tested water concern.

Testing can help identify what needs attention so the treatment approach can be selected for that purpose.

Water Filtration Systems We Install

There isn’t one filter that fits every home. We look at where you want treatment, what you want to improve, and the plumbing layout before discussing options.

  • Whole-home filtration.

Installed on the main water line, this type of system treats water serving your home’s fixtures and appliances.
  • Under-sink drinking-water systems.

A point-of-use system treats water at one tap for drinking and cooking. Reverse-osmosis systems are a common example.
  • Sediment pre-filters.

These filters capture particles before water reaches downstream filtration equipment or selected plumbing components.
  • Water softener and filtration combinations.

A softener can address hardness while a separate filter addresses taste, odor, sediment, or other tested concerns.

We’ll explain the role of each component and the maintenance the selected system requires.

What a Filtration Installation Involves

The installation process depends on whether the system treats water for the whole house or one fixture.

  • Whole-home systems.

These connect to the main water line, typically near where water enters your home. A bypass may be included for future service.
  • Under-sink systems.

These connect beneath the selected sink and may include a dedicated drinking-water faucet. Reverse-osmosis equipment also requires a drain connection.
  • Ongoing maintenance.

Filters and cartridges need replacement based on the system and household water use. We can handle filter and cartridge changes or show you how to manage them yourself.

After reviewing your plumbing and water goals, we’ll explain the proposed work and provide pricing before installation begins.
