AC, Heating & Plumbing in Stallion Springs, CA
Stallion Springs sits in the Tehachapi mountains where winters are cold and wells are common. Our licensed techs keep AC, heating, and plumbing running strong.
HVAC & Plumbing Services for Stallion Springs Homeowners
Stallion Springs is mountain-ranch country. It sits in Cummings Valley, high in the Tehachapi Mountains of Kern County, at close to 3,800 feet. About 3,000 people live here, on large lots and open land. It’s a quiet, rural place. Elk and deer still cross the fields.
A home up here weathers cold winters and warm, dry summers. Arctic Air & Plumbing keeps yours comfortable through both. We run our HVAC and plumbing crews out of Lancaster, down on the valley floor, and we make the climb up into the Tehachapis often. Homeowners across the area have counted on us since 2009. One call to Arctic covers it all: your furnace, AC, water heater, and the drains.
AC, Heating & Plumbing Services in Stallion Springs
With Arctic Air & Plumbing, your HVAC and your plumbing care come from the same team. We keep your furnace, AC, and heat pump running, and we take care of your water heater, drains, gas lines, and sewer or septic. When something breaks, that’s one call instead of three.
Air Conditioning
Summers up here are warmer than you’d think, but milder than the desert floor below. Afternoons reach the upper 80s. Your AC works the hot days, but gets an easier season than the units down on the valley floor. When the AC gives out on a hot afternoon, our HVAC technicians usually fix it on the first visit. A spring tune-up keeps it ready for the warm stretch.

Heating
Winter runs long and cold at this elevation. From November into March, freezing nights are the norm near 3,800 feet, with the odd snowfall on top. Your furnace works hard for months to hold the house warm. If it gives out on a cold night, we’ll come up and get the furnace running again. Getting it checked in the fall heads off a mid-winter breakdown.

Plumbing
Cold is hard on mountain plumbing. Freezing nights put an exposed pipe at real risk up here. Those water lines run long across big lots. The water also runs hard, leaving scale in the water heater and pipes. Our plumbers cover the water heater, the drains, and the septic or sewer line.

A picture is worth a thousand words - please read this and check out my pictures before you call this company! We have been customers of Arctic Air for years and this is the installation they performed at our home. Incomplete wiring, pieces taped in place, instead of fully removing the old unit the new swamp cooler is taped to pieces of the old unit - since this was done on our roof, we might have never known how bad the installation was but it caused a leak in our living room and we’ve been stuck in a nightmare ever since.
If we want repairs done through them then we just need to sign a form releasing them of all liability - would you sign off on a company that performed THIS work to come fix it?
• This was installed 6/6
• Arctic Air performed repairs on the new unit on 6/8 (it was flooding our side yard due to an incorrect valve placement)
• There was a leak in our living room on 6/14 and an Arctic Air tech confirmed it was their responsibility and management would follow up
To date, we are still going back and forth while things stay broken and damaged in our home. Save yourself this trouble!

Thanks for the response Arctic Air - as of 07/08/26, our request was not approved by management. If they have changed their mind, we would appreciate a commitment in writing (via email).

They just keep getting better! I know it can be difficult in these times to trust companies to truly take care of you, do solid work, all at a fair price, but this company does! Had Joe come out and inspect my A/C unit. He was very thoughtful, complete and accommodating. 5 star is not enough. He gave some great recommendations without any high pressure sales and I am completely happy with adding these features to my home through the best A/C company I have worked with by far. Call them, use them and find trust again! Thank you Joe!

The gentleman that came out the week before to diagnose the problem gave us same info as the So Cal Gas representative. But, in addition to saying we were fortunate to be alive and should keep the heater pilot off, he came back the next day with a portable heater for our use until new heater could be installed on Monday .

Why the Mountain Climate Is Hard on Stallion Springs Homes
- Long, cold winters. At close to 3,800 feet, freezing nights run from November into March. Snow is light here. The cold is not. Your furnace runs for months to keep your house warm. The coldest night of the year is exactly when a tired furnace tends to quit.
- Freeze-prone pipes. A mountain freeze is sharper than a valley cold snap, and it can split an unprotected pipe overnight. Out here your home might sit acres from its neighbor. Your water lines cross that open ground, exposed to the cold. A break out on your property can run for hours before it’s found. Wrapping your exposed lines before winter heads off most of it.
- Big day-to-night swings. Mountain air doesn’t hold heat. A warm 85-degree afternoon can fall into the 40s by night, even in summer. Your home swings from cooling to heating in a single day for weeks in spring and fall. That back-and-forth works both your systems. Both need to be ready when the season turns.
- Rural mountain properties. Your home sits on acreage, well back from the road. Your AC condenser, your water lines, and your septic all sit farther out and more exposed than they would in town. There’s more to look after on your mountain-ranch lot. Regular upkeep catches the small problems early. Out here, a breakdown means a wait for help, so staying ahead of it pays off.
- Hard mountain water. The water in Cummings Valley comes up hard. Over time it leaves a chalky scale in your water heater and your pipes. Scale quietly shortens your water heater’s life, cutting years off the tank. Flushing the tank on a schedule slows it down.
