AC, Heating & Plumbing in Quartz Hill, CA
Quartz Hill summers are hot and the hard water is tough on pipes and water heaters. Our licensed techs handle AC, heating, and plumbing fast.
HVAC & Plumbing Services for Quartz Hill Homeowners
Gold Rush prospectors found quartz outcrops in these hills more than a century ago. The name stuck. Almond orchards came later. Quartz Hill still throws an Almond Blossom Festival every spring. Most of that farmland is houses now. Today it’s a settled suburb of about 11,000 people, tucked between Lancaster and Palmdale at roughly 2,500 feet.
The high desert swings from triple-digit summers to freezing winter nights. Arctic Air & Plumbing has kept Quartz Hill comfortable through those swings since 2009. We run our HVAC and plumbing crews out of Lancaster, close enough that Quartz Hill is practically the next block over. Whatever your home needs, one team covers it: the AC, the furnace, the water heater, and the drains. When the AC quits in a July heat wave or an aging water heater gives out, we can usually be there the same day.
AC, Heating & Plumbing Services in Quartz Hill
In Quartz Hill, Arctic Air & Plumbing is the one number for cooling, heating, and plumbing. On the HVAC side, we keep the AC going all summer and the furnace ready when the nights turn cold. That covers your full HVAC needs, both seasons. Our plumbers look after the water heater, the drains, and the aging pipes common in an older suburban home. Here’s what we take care of.
Air Conditioning
When your A/C quits in the heat, our HVAC technicians usually get it running again in one visit. A spring tune-up catches a small fault before it becomes a July no-cooling call.
- Air Conditioning Repair
- AC Installation and Replacement
- Central Air, Ductless Mini-Splits, and Heat Pumps
- Seasonal AC Maintenance and Tune-Ups
Heating
Freezing winter nights put your furnace to work from December into February. In an older Quartz Hill home, that furnace may be getting on in years. If it quits on a cold night, call us and we’ll get the heat back on. A tune-up before winter catches worn parts before they fail.
- Furnace Repair
- Furnace Installation and Replacement
- Heat Pump Service
- Heating Maintenance and Tune-Ups
Plumbing
Quartz Hill runs on city water from the Quartz Hill Water District, not wells, so the plumbing here looks like any established suburb. Hard water still builds scale in the water heater and pipes as the years go by. In older homes, those pipes and fixtures are due for attention. Our plumbers take care of all of it, from the water heater to the drains.
- Emergency Plumbing
- Water Heater Repair and Replacement
- Tankless Water Heater Installation
- Leak Detection Services
- Slab Leak Detection and Repair
- Drain Cleaning
- Sewer Line Repair and Installation
- Trenchless Sewer Line Installation
- Sewer Camera Inspections
- Gas Line Repair and Installation

All of your cooling, heating, and plumbing needs under one roof. Arctic Air & Plumbing has you covered.

A picture is worth a thousand words - please read this and check out my pictures before you call this company! We have been customers of Arctic Air for years and this is the installation they performed at our home. Incomplete wiring, pieces taped in place, instead of fully removing the old unit the new swamp cooler is taped to pieces of the old unit - since this was done on our roof, we might have never known how bad the installation was but it caused a leak in our living room and we’ve been stuck in a nightmare ever since.
If we want repairs done through them then we just need to sign a form releasing them of all liability - would you sign off on a company that performed THIS work to come fix it?
• This was installed 6/6
• Arctic Air performed repairs on the new unit on 6/8 (it was flooding our side yard due to an incorrect valve placement)
• There was a leak in our living room on 6/14 and an Arctic Air tech confirmed it was their responsibility and management would follow up
To date, we are still going back and forth while things stay broken and damaged in our home. Save yourself this trouble!

Thanks for the response Arctic Air - as of 07/08/26, our request was not approved by management. If they have changed their mind, we would appreciate a commitment in writing (via email).

They just keep getting better! I know it can be difficult in these times to trust companies to truly take care of you, do solid work, all at a fair price, but this company does! Had Joe come out and inspect my A/C unit. He was very thoughtful, complete and accommodating. 5 star is not enough. He gave some great recommendations without any high pressure sales and I am completely happy with adding these features to my home through the best A/C company I have worked with by far. Call them, use them and find trust again! Thank you Joe!

The gentleman that came out the week before to diagnose the problem gave us same info as the So Cal Gas representative. But, in addition to saying we were fortunate to be alive and should keep the heater pilot off, he came back the next day with a portable heater for our use until new heater could be installed on Monday .

Why the High Desert Is Hard on Quartz Hill Homes
Quartz Hill is more built-up than the valley towns around it, block after block of tract and custom homes on smaller lots. Much of that housing went up decades ago. The AC units, furnaces, and water heaters in these homes tend to age out around the same time. The high-desert climate only pushes them harder:
- Long hot summers. Summer afternoons here sit in the upper 90s and push past 100 in a heat wave. Your AC runs for hours a day, month after month. That kind of load wears a system down years before its time. An older unit feels it first.
- Cold desert nights. At about 2,500 feet, winter nights drop below freezing for weeks at a stretch. Your furnace runs long and hard to hold the house warm. A furnace fifteen or twenty years old tends to fail on the coldest night of the year.
- Hard desert water. The water here comes up hard off the high-desert aquifer, loaded with calcium and magnesium. That load bakes a hard scale into the water heater and the pipes. The layer only thickens as time passes. In an older home on its original plumbing, that scale has had years to build.
- Homes of a certain age. Whole Quartz Hill neighborhoods were built out in the same stretch of years. The furnaces, AC units, and water heaters in them are reaching the end of their lives together. When one goes, a neighbor’s is often not far behind.
- Dry wind and dust. When the Santa Anas blow through, the humidity drops under ten percent. The wind carries fine desert dust across town. That dust packs into your AC coils and loads a filter fast. Clean coils and a fresh filter are how you stay ahead of it.
None of this is unusual for a high-desert suburb. It’s just part of owning a home in Quartz Hill. Steady upkeep keeps ahead of it. A tune-up before summer and again before winter can catch a worn part before it breaks down on you.
