HVAC & Plumbing Services in Sun Village: Provided by Arctic Air & Plumbing
Sun Village sits on the east side of the Antelope Valley, just past Palmdale and next to Littlerock. It’s a big, spread-out community: around 12,000 people, almost all of it rural, on large desert lots at about 2,700 feet. The homes here are established. Many have been running the same AC, furnace, and water heater for years.
Arctic Air & Plumbing runs its HVAC and plumbing crews out of Lancaster, on the far side of the valley. We’ve served homes across the Antelope Valley since 2009. Sun Village is part of our regular run. One crew covers your heating, your cooling, your water heater, and your drains. When your AC quits in July or a pipe splits on a cold night, we come out and get it working again.
AC, Heating & Plumbing Services We Offer in Sun Village
In Sun Village, Arctic Air & Plumbing handles the HVAC and plumbing systems homeowners rely on every day. We repair and replace air conditioners, furnaces, and heat pumps, and we provide seasonal maintenance to help those systems run when the weather changes. Our plumbers service water heaters, drains, gas lines, and sewer or septic lines. When something goes wrong with your heating, cooling, or plumbing, you have one local team to call.
Air Conditioning
Summer on the valley floor is long and brutal, with afternoons past 100 for weeks. Your AC runs hard from late spring into fall. When it quits in that heat, our HVAC technicians can usually track down the problem and fix it in one visit. A spring service call heads off most summer breakdowns before the heat sets in.

Heating
Winters here get cold. At 2,700 feet, valley nights drop below freezing through December and January, and your furnace runs most of the season. When it won’t start on a cold morning, we’ll come out and get your heat going again. A fall tune-up is worth it after your furnace has sat idle all summer.

Plumbing
Antelope Valley water is hard, and it wears on your plumbing year-round. The minerals build up inside your water heater and pipes and cut their life short. On a big rural lot, your water and sewer lines run long, so a leak can run a while before anyone notices. We keep an eye on all of it.

A picture is worth a thousand words - please read this and check out my pictures before you call this company! We have been customers of Arctic Air for years and this is the installation they performed at our home. Incomplete wiring, pieces taped in place, instead of fully removing the old unit the new swamp cooler is taped to pieces of the old unit - since this was done on our roof, we might have never known how bad the installation was but it caused a leak in our living room and we’ve been stuck in a nightmare ever since.
If we want repairs done through them then we just need to sign a form releasing them of all liability - would you sign off on a company that performed THIS work to come fix it?
• This was installed 6/6
• Arctic Air performed repairs on the new unit on 6/8 (it was flooding our side yard due to an incorrect valve placement)
• There was a leak in our living room on 6/14 and an Arctic Air tech confirmed it was their responsibility and management would follow up
To date, we are still going back and forth while things stay broken and damaged in our home. Save yourself this trouble!

Thanks for the response Arctic Air - as of 07/08/26, our request was not approved by management. If they have changed their mind, we would appreciate a commitment in writing (via email).

They just keep getting better! I know it can be difficult in these times to trust companies to truly take care of you, do solid work, all at a fair price, but this company does! Had Joe come out and inspect my A/C unit. He was very thoughtful, complete and accommodating. 5 star is not enough. He gave some great recommendations without any high pressure sales and I am completely happy with adding these features to my home through the best A/C company I have worked with by far. Call them, use them and find trust again! Thank you Joe!

The gentleman that came out the week before to diagnose the problem gave us same info as the So Cal Gas representative. But, in addition to saying we were fortunate to be alive and should keep the heater pilot off, he came back the next day with a portable heater for our use until new heater could be installed on Monday .

Why the High Desert Is Hard on Sun Village Homes
The desert is hard on Sun Village homes. Summer heat, freezing winter nights, hard water, and wind all put extra strain on your AC, furnace, and plumbing. Each one affects the home differently, from worn AC parts and dusty filters to stressed water heaters, clogged drains, and heating systems that have to work harder after dark.
- Long, hot summers. From late spring into fall, afternoons on the valley floor run past 100. Your AC works for months with barely a break. That kind of runtime wears a system out years early, and the older units common in Sun Village feel it first.
- Freezing winter nights. At 2,700 feet the desert cold is real. December and January nights drop below freezing, and your furnace runs hard to keep up. A furnace that sat unused all summer often picks the first cold snap to fail.
- Hard water. The groundwater out here is heavy with minerals. That load leaves scale inside your water heater and pipes, and it builds up more every year. Scale is a quiet reason a lot of valley water heaters wear out early.
- Wind and blowing dust. The open desert around Sun Village catches a lot of wind, and it carries fine dust everywhere. That dust packs into your AC coils and clogs a filter fast, which makes the whole system work harder. Clean coils and fresh filters keep it from getting worse.
- Shifting ground. A lot of the valley floor is clay-heavy soil. It swells when it’s wet and shrinks when it dries. That constant movement cracks slab foundations and pulls buried pipes apart. It’s behind a lot of the slab-leak calls we get out here.
High desert weather is tough on home systems, but regular maintenance helps prevent many of the worst surprises. An AC tune-up before summer, a furnace check before winter, and scheduled water heater maintenance can catch worn parts, airflow problems, sediment buildup, and other issues early. That gives you a better chance of fixing a small problem before it turns into no cooling in July or no heat on a cold winter night.
